Agostinho Almeida is a founder Director of the European School of Integrative Psychotherapy. He has taught different courses both at the undergraduate and post-graduate level in Portugal and abroad. He is currently Pro-President for Post-graduate Studies at ISMAI (Portugal) and co-director of the Milton H. Erickson Institute of Northern Portugal. He received post-graduate training from different international universities, namely in Clinical Neuropsychology (Univ. of Salamanca, Spain), Developmental Clinical Psychology (Univ. of Coimbra, Portugal), Sexology (American Board of Sexologists at Maimonides University, USA), Brief Integrative Psychotherapy and Clinical Hypnosis (University of Salamanca, University of Coimbra, Milton H. Erickson Foundation), in Drug Addiction (University of Porto), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (Bristol and UCAE, Porto), to name but a few.
He has been a psychotherapist in private practice for the last fifteen years and has collaborated with Peter Hawkins since 1994. He was co-founder and co-director of different Portuguese Associations in counseling and psychotherapy (ACONPSIC), clinical hypnosis (HYPNOS), and clinical neuropsychology (SPNP).
